Pterinochilus murinus "RCF" (Orange Bitey Thing)

A harder species of tarantula, Pterinochilus murinus "RCF" are also known as the Orange Bitey Things, growing to around 16cm leg span when adult the are a large but not giant tarantula, known for its defensive nature, this is not a tarantula we recommend handling.

Due to their defensive nature, please only buy this if you are confident and experienced with tarantulas.

They display some arboreal traits, not afraid to venture upwards in search of food, this being said, they will send a large amount of time on the ground, creating a vast network of webbed tunnels.

Orange Bitey Things do prefer warmer temperatures, although they live comfortably at general room temperature. A humidity of around 60-75% will be fine with spraying regularly or as they get dry.

Keep on a diet of Fruit Fly and small insects until larger when they require more substantial prey, able to attack and dispatch live most live prey with ease.

Housing: Keep in a small Solid encloser with good cross ventilation and grow it as they grow, giving them room to grow but keeping the space small to aid hunting.

Check out our invert enclosers for a fully customisable experience.
